There’s no single legal interval for commercial premises. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require electrical systems to be maintained to prevent danger. IET Guidance Note 3 recommends a maximum of five years for offices, shops and schools, three years for industrial premises, and shorter intervals for some public venues. Your last EICR may set an earlier date.

The sale of most fluorescent tubes has been banned in Great Britain since 2023, with the final T5 and T8 types phased out in February 2024.
