We have summarised each option below. As with any government scheme, there are conditions and a process to follow.

Electric Vehicle Charging Schemes

Only installers who are ALREADY authorised by OZEV and have approval from the
manufacturer to install their OZEV approved chargepoints are eligible for these schemes.

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) is a grant that provides a 75% contribution to the cost of one chargepoint and its installation, up to £350 (inc VAT) per installation. The main requirement is that the applicant owns, leases, or has ordered a qualifying vehicle and their property has dedicated off-street parking. Applicants may apply for two chargepoints at the same property if they have two qualifying vehicles.

HOW IT WORKS

Applicant chooses an approved EVHS installer to install their chargepoint. The installer checks they qualify and applies on the customer’s behalf. The installer will bill the customer for the installation, less the grant amount they have applied for. OZEV will pay the installer the grant amount direct.

EVHS Applicant Guidance

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme designed to provide eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints. The contribution is limited to 75% of purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £350 for each socket, up to a maximum of 40 across all sites for each applicant.

HOW IT WORKS

Applicant applies for the scheme online. If eligible, they will be emailed a unique voucher code, within five working days, to give to their authorised installer. The installer will claim the grant from OZEV when the chargepoint(s) have been installed. The voucher is valid for 180 days.
