Network
technicians will know the scenario only too well … the server goes down
and they find that their backups are write-only! Sometimes it can
take days, but at least hours to bring a school back up after a server
failure.
DMS ServerFix offers a fast disaster
recovery option for your server that provides almost seamless computing
for users.
BECTA advises
schools to continually check and restore backups. We agree that this is
a good way of avoiding the above scenario. However, DMS has a solution
with less administration.
Using a separate
server (one of your old ones if you have one), DMS will add ServerFix to
continually back up your data. In the event of a server crash, your
administrator clicks a shortcut on their desktop to switch to the backup
server. One click, your students log out and back in again and school
continues as before.
