Business Development and Account Manager

Design & Management Systems are looking for a new Business Development/Account Manager to join their growing sales team.

Location: Non-Specific (Capability to Work from Home)

  • Salary: Negotiable (Dependent on Experience) + Uncapped Commission
  • Reports To: Sales Director

Overview of the Role:

Design and Management Systems specialise in providing extensive IT solutions to public sector clients and are looking for an experienced Sales Personnel to contribute to the company's ongoing success. The role will consist of a combination of New Business and Account Management/Development.

You will be selling IT Solutions and Services into the Educational Sector; includes majority of Microsoft Technologies (Server Migration and Upgrade Projects) plus Intel and HP Solutions. D&M Systems also have their own bespoke Network Management Software and Network Cabling Division.

You will be supported pre-sales by DMS technical engineers, but responsible for your own lead and appointment generation. 

  • Generate, Qualify and follow up leads
  • Attending initial sales meetings
  • Issuing quotes and account managing and taking responsibility for own accounts.
  • Managing and utilising internal resources to further each prospect
  • Reporting progress of all sales activities clearly and in a timely fashion
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with prospects
  • Representing the company at exhibitions, events and demonstrations
  • Achieve individual sales targets.
  • Continually develop technical knowledge

Required skills: 

Candidates will be highly motivated, organised and commercially aware. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to business development and have a genuine interest in the Public Sector market. Candidates must have a willingness to travel and possess a current driving licence. 

  • Proven success in solution selling of IT
  • The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies and preferably established relationships within education sector
  • The ideal candidate will have a knowledge IT Networks
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • A positive, confident and determined approach
  • The skills to work both independently and as part of a team
